Manchester Airport 01.10.11 (A6-EYE, SP-HAA & OH-LEE)

Since this will be the last day the temperature exceeds 20 degrees until next year I thought I would make a trip down to Manchester Airport to catch the Etihad Manchester City special scheme (A6-EYE) and the Tor Air (SP-HAA). After walking to the 23L spot to find out they went to single runway ops early I had a 20 minute walk to the 23R mounds.

As I arrived I first caught the Singapore triple seven, as it was early morning I got this on the taxiway without any heat haze.

After about 15 minutes the Manchester City scheme 330 appeared from behind the terminal, and again with it being early I managed to get it on the taxiway without any haze, even though I am a Manchester United fan I have to say that this is a very nice scheme.

The first Finnair EMB170 I have photographed in the new scheme, so this was also a welcome surprise for me!

After over an hour delay I was sure this aircraft was never going to appear, but just before I was about to go home and call it quits, it called up over the radio for taxi. This was the highlight of the day and after watching charter crap for 4 hours after the Finnair 170 departed once the Tor Air departed I hastily left!
